This role is employed by Horse Technologies Division and is based in Valladolid, with occasional travel possible to Horse Powertrain’s other sites.

As an MRO Buyer, you are responsible for sourcing and managing goods and services that support the maintenance, repair, and operational continuity of manufacturing facilities. You ensure the availability of critical spare parts, industrial services, maintenance contracts, tools, consumables, and technical solutions at the best total cost of ownership while minimizing operational risks and supporting plant reliability objectives.

Working closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, HSE, and Procurement teams, you drive sourcing strategies, supplier performance, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across the MRO category.

What you will do

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for MRO categories, including spare parts, consumables, maintenance services, contractors, tooling, and facilities.

• Ensure uninterrupted plant operations through effective supplier risk management, lead-time control, and inventory optimization.

• Partner with Maintenance and Engineering teams to optimize spend, standardize materials and services, and improve efficiency.

• Lead RFQs, supplier negotiations, contract management, and supplier selection processes for MRO goods and services.

• Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and demand-management initiatives while maintaining reliability, safety, and operational performance.

• Conduct market analysis, supplier assessments, and benchmarking to identify innovation opportunities and industry best practices.

• Manage strategic supplier relationships and improve performance across quality, delivery, responsiveness, and service levels.

• Monitor MRO procurement KPIs, ensure contract and policy compliance, and support sustainability, health, and safety objectives.

What we’re looking for

• A proven track record in strategic procurement within industrial/manufacturing environments and negotiating contracts for MRO categories such as maintenance services, spare parts, and technical contractors.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Familiarity with MRO best practices, including inventory optimization, reliability methodologies (TPM, RCM, Lean Maintenance), and supplier-led solutions such as e-catalogs and VMI.

• Experience with SAP, Ariba, Coupa, or similar procurement platforms, as well as spend analysis and ERP tools.

• Excellent skills in supplier relationship management and commercial negotiation.

• Strong competencies in spend and market analysis and cross-functional stakeholder management, with a collaborative approach.

• Knowledge of the automotive sector, Horse Powertrain business, and our ambition to transform the industry.

• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written; proficiency in French will be valued.
