This role is employed by Horse Technologies Division and is based in Valladolid, with occasional travel possible to Horse Powertrain’s other sites.

Purpose:
As an MRO Buyer, you are responsible for sourcing and managing goods and services that support the maintenance, repair, and operational continuity of manufacturing facilities. You ensure the availability of critical spare parts, industrial services, maintenance contracts, tools, consumables, and technical solutions at the best total cost of ownership while minimizing operational risks and supporting plant reliability objectives.
Working closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, HSE, and Procurement teams, you drive sourcing strategies, supplier performance, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across the MRO category.
What you will do
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for MRO categories including spare parts, industrial consumables, maintenance services, technical contractors, tooling, and facility services.
Ensure supply continuity for critical plant operations by managing supplier risk, lead times, and inventory-related procurement strategies.
Partner with Maintenance and Engineering teams to optimize maintenance spend and identify standardization opportunities across plants.
Lead RFQs, supplier negotiations, and contract management activities for MRO-related goods and services.
Identify and implement cost reduction, value engineering, and demand-control initiatives without compromising plant reliability or safety.
Conduct market intelligence, benchmarking, and supplier assessments to identify innovation and best practices.
Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs through effective supplier management and sourcing solutions.
Manage strategic supplier relationships and drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, responsiveness, and service performance.
Establish framework agreements and catalog solutions to simplify purchasing processes and improve compliance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical specifications, supplier selection criteria, and sourcing requirements.
Monitor KPIs related to MRO spend, supplier performance, contract compliance, inventory optimization, and cost savings.
Ensure compliance with company policies, sustainability objectives, and health & safety requirements.
What we’re looking for
• Strong procurement experience in industrial environments with exposure to Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) categories.
Knowledge of maintenance operations, spare parts sourcing, industrial consumables, technical services, and manufacturing support activities.
Experience negotiating contracts for maintenance services, technical contractors, tooling, facilities management, or industrial equipment.
Understanding of reliability, asset management, preventive maintenance, and inventory optimization principles.
Ability to analyze spend, supplier performance, and market trends to develop effective sourcing strategies.
Experience working closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations stakeholders in a plant environment.
Strong supplier relationship management and commercial negotiation skills.
Proficiency in procurement systems, ERP platforms, and spend analysis tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management capabilities.
Results-oriented mindset with a focus on operational continuity, cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and supplier performance.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Industrial Purchasing roles.
Full professional proficiency in English.
Nice to Have (Highly Recommended for MRO)
Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
Knowledge of industrial categories such as bearings, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, cutting tools, PPE, lubricants, electrical components, automation, and maintenance services.
Familiarity with reliability methodologies (TPM, RCM, Lean Maintenance).
Experience implementing e-catalogs, vendor-managed inventory (VMI), or integrated supplier solutions.
Proficiency in French would be a plus
Knowledge in AI tools and usage (like Copilot, Gemini, Claude, …)
Knowledge of SAP, Ariba, Coupa, or other procurement platforms.
