What you will do
Nature and scope of responsibilities:
Within a Plant Quality Department, under the responsibility of the Head of Workshop, the Head of Quality Unit is in charge of leading, managing and coordinating a team of Quality employees.
Is responsible at the level of his or her basic work unit:
- The achievement of the Quality objectives within the scope for which he/she is responsible
- The application of safety rules and working conditions (safety, environment, etc.) in force within the company
- The maintenance of a good social climate by dealing with problems which may arise within its Basic Work Unit
- On a daily basis, operational standards and human relations of its Basic Work Unit
- He/she is responsible for the results of his/her Basic Work Unit
Scope: Lead a team of control operators
Significant Activities:
At the level of the basic work unit under his responsibility;
- Ensure compliance with safety rules and working conditions (in particular safety round, control and wearing of PPE, on-the-job training, compliance with the rules of procedure),
- Participate in the quality meetings of the workshop and facilitate meetings within his unit to provide information to his employees
- Lead unit members collectively and individually around the Quality objectives of the workshop
- Set individual objectives in line with the collective objectives of the workshop, regularly evaluate the team’s performance and carryout annual reviews
- Ensure the development of the skills of team members, Plan training needs based on team operational needs
- Conduct and facilitate the customer satisfaction survey in relation to its scope activity.
- Prioritize topics according to urgency / importance.
- Ensure that they have the necessary human resources to ensure the
mission of the basic unit (establishment of staff, rotation of temporary staff, versatility) and ensure continuity of activity (absences, leave, training),
- Ensure that the equipment and consumables are available for the unit’s mission
- Ensure that the procedures and instructions in its scope are updated
- Enforce and improve operational standards in the Quality scope, as well as in the Security and Environment sections
- Write, update and ensure compliance with the Standard Operations Sheets by drawing on the procedures and identifying the key points required following customer complaints or identified risks.
- Check operating procedures, identify anomalies and malfunctions of the unit, alert and manage them reactively in conjunction with the team, providing the most appropriate solutions
- Update the unit’s indicators to monitor its performance, display them as a Dashboard and communicate them regularly to the team
Autonomy and freedom of action
Manage independently:
- Team building, rotation and versatility, and expression of interim needs
- Indicators and quality dashboards of its entity
- Alerts to his hierarchy in case of malfunctions or safety and environmental risks
- Deploy, on a daily basis, the means to achieve the objectives of its Elementary Work Unit set by its hierarchy within the defined budget.
- Apply the medium-term organization of your basic work unit, defined by your supervisor
- Follow the budget of your basic work unit in accordance with the budget guidelines of your shop manager
- Be responsible for the development plan of employees in accordance with his/her line manager
Key Labour Relations
- The Head of Quality Workshop to inform and solicit advice/arbitration- The Manufacturing teams: Heads of Unit and Heads of Workshop to alert and facilitate corrective action plans on quality issues
- Supplier Quality Service to alert and lock supplier topics
- Staff representatives to inform and exchange regularly on issues raised
- Responsible for Human Resources, Occupational Medicine, Responsible for Employment Training, Responsible for Working Conditions and Environment: for preventive actions or interventions.
- Management Control: monitoring of absenteeism, temporary workers, indirect production costs, etc.
- Social partners: to exchange regularly on the issues raised
What we are looking for
- At least 3 years experience in manufacturing business lines, quality and production system
- English proficieny required
- Availability for shift work
- Mastery of personnel management rules and tools
- Leadership: ability to mobilize the team to achieve the performance objective of the Basic Work Unit
- Ability to define strategic directions to achieve objectives
- General knowledge of Human Resources, Security and Relationships
- Organizational, reactivity, synthesis and prioritization capabilities
- Ability to listen, communicate, negotiate, convince and make decisions with the approval of his/her hierarchy
- Knowledge of diagnostic and performance improvement tools
- Mastery of tools and implementation of progress approaches
