What you will do

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Head of Legal to oversee and manage all legal affairs across HORSE. This role blends strategic guidance with hands-on operational responsibilities, ensuring that legal matters are aligned with the company’s goals and objectives. You will be the go-to expert for all legal, compliance, and governance issues, driving HORSE’s growth while protecting its interests globally.

This is an exciting opportunity for an all-rounder legal professional who is as comfortable providing strategic counsel to the leadership team as they are managing day-to-day legal operations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Provide proactive, high-quality legal counsel to the CEO, leadership team, and other stakeholders on a variety of legal and compliance matters.

• Develop and implement legal strategies that support HORSE’s business objectives, risk management, and long-term goals.

• Drive the establishment of legal frameworks and policies that align with the company’s growth and innovation trajectory.

Operational Excellence

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

• Manage and resolve disputes, litigation, and regulatory matters in collaboration with external legal advisors.

• Oversee compliance programs and ensure adherence to global regulations, including anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and data protection laws.

• Provide legal support for corporate governance, including board meetings, resolutions, and shareholder agreements.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with HR, Finance, Supply Chain, and other departments to provide legal advice on employment law, commercial contracts, intellectual property, and tax-related issues.

• Engage with external partners, regulatory bodies, and government agencies to ensure the company’s legal interests are protected and represented effectively.

Team Management

• Lead and develop the legal function, including managing internal legal staff and external counsel.

• Foster a culture of legal and ethical awareness across the organization through training and communication initiatives.

What we are looking for

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: master’s degree in law from a recognized institution.

• Experience:

- Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Strong background in business law (corporate and commercial), , preferably in a multinational company. Sensitivity to Employment legal matters is a plus.

- Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry is a strong plus.

• Skills:

- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

- Strategic mindset with the ability to manage complex legal matters.

- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.

- Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multicultural teams.

• Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese) is a plus.
