Job description
Nature and scope of responsibilities
Under the responsibility of the Finance Manager, the Controller guarantees the best economic performance of a department or a department within the business scope (factories, corporate business or country): deployment of the business/project budget, analysis of economic indicators, challenge, advise and alert; ensuring compliance with corporate rules, processes (internal control) and corporate strategy.
Significant activities
- Consolidates economic indicators & gives the first level of analysis
- Ensure compliance with the budget/entry ticket within its scope:
- Analyze financial data and variances
- Prepare short and/or medium term project re-forecasts and/or milestones
- Prepare the closure and/or internal Group project milestones, ensuring the reliability of the data
- Recommend a first level of economic performance action plans including the allocation of economic resources on the perimeter
- Validate Expenditure Initiation Requests
- Advise its operations to optimize the economic performance of the scope (as a partner of the activity).
- Communicate the economic results of its scope to:
- Its operations on variances
- Its management to ensure sound financial consolidation throughout the company
- Internal players (accounting, taxation, customs, etc.)
Autonomy and freedom of action
- Ensure the deployment and monitoring of its activities in the given scoping and in application of business rules and processes
- Contribute to decision-making on expenditure commitments
- Check and alert on the financial indicators of the scope (e.g. budget, entry ticket, margin)

- Operational aspects of its scope: communication, alert
- Managers in his function: consolidation of financial indicators
- Internal players in the finance function (e.g. Accounting, Internal Control, Taxation): transmission of financial indicators, communication of management processes and rules

Level 2
Additional Activities
Under the responsibility of the Finance Manager, the Level 2 Management Controller guarantees the best economic performance on a scope with several departments or services within a plant, a country or a Corporate business. In this capacity he has the following responsibilities:
- Analyze consolidated economic indicators
- Analyze financial data and variances, propose areas of improvement that can go up to arbitrations between the different scopes of its scope
- Facilitate short and/or medium term project reviews and/or milestones
- Ensure data reliability for the closure and/or internal Group project milestones by ensuring data reliability
- Recommend and launch economic performance action plans including the allocation of economic resources on the perimeter
- Validate EI requests above the Level 1 Management Controller
- Advise and challenge operations to optimize the economic performance of the scope (as a partner of the activity)
- Be a force for continuous improvement
- Conduct economic studies, profitability studies in line with the company’s strategic orientations
- Communicate the economic results of its scope to:
- Internal (Accounting, Taxation, Customs, etc.) and/or external (Statutory Auditors, etc.)
Autonomy and freedom of action
- Is the reference point for management control and compliance within its scope
- Performs its activities in complete autonomy and organizes its scope of activity within the framework of Business standards
- Issues an opinion on expenditure commitments up to a certain threshold
- Fully autonomous in identifying improvements and establishing action plans
- Prepares the results and data collected consolidated and analysed with the Management of its partner business line

- The operations of its scope at a level higher than the level 1 management controller: communication, alert, guidance, arbitrage
- The managers of his function: consolidation of financial indicators, alerts, decision-making, structuring of transformation elements
- Internal players in the finance function (e.g. Accounting, Internal Control, Taxation): transmission of financial indicators, communication of management processes and rules, arbitrations,)
- The actors and directors of the internal partner functions (e.g. Audit, Purchasing, Projects, Legal)
External Labour Relations:
- External players under the light supervision of their manager (e.g. statutory auditor, suppliers, etc.)
