This role is employed by Horse Technologies Division and is based in Aveiro - Portugal , with occasional travel possible to Horse Powertrain’s other sites.

What you will do
Maintain and monitor the fixed asset register and ensure reconciliation with the general ledger.
Manage regular fixed asset stock-taking procedures.
Manage evidence related to the current state and condition of properties.
Ensure proper asset capitalization, disposals, and transfers in line with accounting policies.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities related to fixed assets.
Post and review depreciation runs and ensure accuracy of asset balances.
Perform period-end checks and reconciliations related to fixed assets.
Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and applicable accounting standards (local GAAP and IFRS).
Apply and ensure compliance with IAS 16 (Property, Plant and Equipment).
Support the application of IAS 36 (Impairment of Assets), including identification of impairment indicators.
Analyze capital expenditures (CAPEX) and ensure correct asset classification.
Assess useful lives and residual values of assets in line with accounting standards.
Monitor and analyze asset performance and utilization.
Support internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation and explanations.
Collaborate with controlling, finance, and other departments to ensure accurate asset reporting.
Create and set up new projects in the system in line with internal guidelines.
Define project structure, budget frameworks, and financial coding (WBS).
Ensure proper alignment with business requirements and approval workflows.
Support the implementation phase of projects, ensuring financial tracking is correctly established.
Monitor project progress from a financial perspective throughout execution.
Track project costs, including purchase orders, receipts, and cash-out flows.
Monitor actuals vs budget and ensure accurate cost allocation.
Identify and analyze deviations, providing explanations and corrective actions when needed.
Prepare yearly budgets, trimester forecast and monthly follow-up
Ensure regular updates of financial projections based on project progress and business input.
Support planning cycles with accurate and timely financial data.
Act as financial business partner to project managers across multiple departments.
Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial status and expectations.
Support decision-making by providing financial insights and scenario analysis.
Ensure proper financial closure of projects, including final cost reconciliation.
Validate that all costs are correctly booked and projects are closed in compliance with internal rules.
Ensure compliance with internal financial guidelines and policies throughout the project lifecycle.
Adapt to changes in guidelines, processes, and reporting requirements.
What we’re looking for
- Master's or pre-Bologna degree in Accounting or similar;
- Minimum of 2 years experience (compulsory);
- Registration with the Order of Certified Accountants (OCC);
- Knowledge of SNC, IFRS;
- Knowledge of SAP and SAP4HANA (compulsory);
- Knowledge of Excel as an advanced user;
- Good planning and organizational skills;
- English level: Minimum B2 (C1 preferential);
- A team player with dynamism, flexibility, autonomy and proactivity;
- Analytical, critical and constructive skills;
- Available to start immediately (preferred).
